Our vision will bring outdoor living experience for our clients by creating beautiful, low-maintenance landscapes that reflect the essence of St. Croix’s natural beauty. Whether it's a tropical garden filled with native plants, a serene backyard retreat, or a functional outdoor space for entertaining, we believe in designing spaces that are as unique as the island itself.
We are more than just a landscaping company—we are passionate stewards of the land, dedicated to preserving the island’s charm while helping our clients create outdoor spaces that bring peace, beauty, and functionality to their lives. We are designers are intimately familiar with the island’s diverse plant life, from the iconic bougainvillea and hibiscus to the towering palm trees and native flowering vines. Our team is a close-knit family, composed of individuals who are not just workers, but also life-long Stewards of St. Croix’s landscapes. Each member brings their own unique skills and experiences, but we all share a common thread—a deep respect for the land and a passion for bringing out its natural beauty.
Jose "Rookie" Perez, Owner
Jose Perez is a proud third-generation Cruzan. After spending several years living on the mainland, he often found himself homesick and would return to St. Croix multiple times a year to reconnect with the island’s natural beauty and tranquility. His deep love for the island’s landscapes and its people inspired him to return home for good, where he is now dedicated to preserving and enhancing the beauty of St. Croix through his landscape business.
Luis Parrilla, Managing Director
Luis is a proud second-generation Cruzan and a passionate advocate for the island’s agricultural and horticultural heritage. Luis has always had a deep connection to the land. He spent his childhood immersed in the cultivation and care of plants. His goal is to help preserve the island’s natural beauty while helping others experience the joy of outdoor spaces that thrive in harmony with the land.
Ramiro "Chop" Rivera, Jr., Operations Manager
Ramiro first visited St. Croix several years ago and was instantly captivated by the island's natural beauty, serenity, and vibrant cultural heritage. With each visit, his connection to the land grew deeper, enhancing his appreciation for the community and environment. Now a proud resident, Ramiro brings his extensive woodworking skills and innovative craftsmanship to Hummingbird Lawn Life, helping to elevate outdoor spaces and create harmonious landscapes throughout the island.
Maggie Perez, Operations Manager
Maggie Perez is proud to have deep roots in both Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with St. Croix holding a special place in her heart as her true home. Growing up surrounded by the rich culture and vibrant landscapes of the Caribbean, Maggie has always been drawn to the natural beauty of the islands. For Maggie, this business represents a lifelong dream to not only enhance the island’s outdoor spaces but to help put St. Croix on the map as a world-renowned destination for natural beauty and sustainable landscapes.
